Two Really Good Years
It’s been a really good two years. The best, in fact. Today is the anniversary of the day I was smart enough to marry the man whose car is parked in the other garage bay. 🙂
It’s been ten years since we first met (last week – we cram it all into June). In those ten years, I’ve understood the importance of having someone who supports your career choice. Both of us have some intense work projects that often steal our time (his more intense than mine), but we’ve managed to understand and appreciate the other’s need to immerse in the work sometimes. We’ve also been able to tell the other “Let’s get some dinner” when it’s past 8 p.m. If you have the support of a great partner, your career has one more positive thing going for it.
Perhaps your partner will be happy to hear you’ve scored one of these gigs:

Happy Anniversary to you both! I am so happy you have someone like that in your life. It is very important, you’re right. I didn’t used to (I think you and I may have briefly discussed that on Anne’s message board one time) – but I certainly do now. And it’s a great feeling, isn’t it?
Congrats on the anniversary! I suppose I can partially blame my singleness on the fact that it’s very hard to find someone who is supportive of the freelance life…and all its demands. So, you should definitely count yourself lucky.
Congratulations, Lori! I wish you and your husband many more happy anniversaries. My husband and I just celebrated our 40th!
Congrats to you and your hubby Lori. I’ll be the voice of dissent here and just say that going it alone is the way to go because, at the end of the day, you can look in the mirror and say, “Yep, it was all me.”
That’s a great feeling.
Mike, you and Kathy have that in common. And you’re right – it IS a great feeling. I went it alone for eight years. :))
By the way, Kathy’s single… ;))
Happy anniversary!
“Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match…” Who knew you had so many talents, Lori? ;O) I’m defintitely a voice of dissention–the career began thriving when the ex exited the picture–but I imagine having your cake and eating it too is a nice feeling.
