4 Ways to Suck at Online Sales

What’s on the iPod: Live and Die by The Avett Brothers How was the weekend? I’m not yet feeling over my flu/cold/whatever. Still stuffy and a little achy, but it felt good to finally sleep without waking up to cough incessantly. I spent some time on Friday looking for some sales page strategies. Anne and…

What’s on the iPod: Imagine by Jack Johnson Today is fun day here on the blog. It’s not a day to worry the details (though I’ll probably do that with client projects). Instead, I’d love to share some of my favorites of 2012. Let’s start with music. Every post has a song I’m currently listening…

What’s on the iPod: Ooh La La by Counting Crows I’m currently operating in a fog of Alka Seltzer Plus and Mucinex — welcome to cold season. Luckily the workload is relatively light this week. And luckily for you germs aren’t transmitted over the Internet (not human germs, anyway). So what makes marketing different from…

What’s on the iPod: Still and Always Will by Vintage Trouble So far, so great this week. A massive, typically unwieldy project has been delivered to the client and the invoice is being processed. I'm glad you had a great Christmas, Lori. I did, too. Spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day with my brother's family and their sweet and not-so-little 4-month old puppy. The rest of the extended family joined us on Christmas day. Loads of fun, tons of great food, lots of surprises (they even got me – big time!).

My 8-year old niece beat me at Words with Friends. She's smart. She added e/d/s to all the big words. My 9-year old nephew was one or two points shy of her. He added "b" in front of my "limp." They gloated all day because they beat Auntie Paula. Love it!

This is the one week each year I try to take off, but I might send an LOI or two so I don't feel like a total slacker.

Sounds like everyone had a nice Christmas. Me, too. 🙂 My sister, her husband, son & adorable white miniature schnauzer, Kali, arrived for Christmas Eve & Christmas Day.

My nephew shared photos from his summer spent in Japan. Fascinating – not what I pictured.

We had a late white Christmas and the day after I woke up with a cold. 🙁 I usually only get one per year and I almost made it through 2012 without one.

So, what do I decide to do? Change my theme on my business blog. Of course, I now have wonky things to work out. I figured better now when I'm not busy than later on.

Somehow, I stupidly scheduled my annual physical three days after the beginning of the New Year. How dumb was that? Then a few days later I have my appointment for my refraction on my damaged cornea. Fingers crossed.

Have a fabulous rest of the holiday and enjoy the calm (?). 🙂

Did all the family stuff on Christmas Eve and a couple of days before… ate myself into a stupor.

Lots of pointless reading, some gentle goal setting… it's a good time of year.

It's nice and quiet. I worked on my Goals, Dreams, and Resolutions for the year, read a lot, and am writing a short story for each day of the Twelve Days of Christmas.

Also got a wacky idea for a proposal for my agent, so I'm working on that.

I LOVE Banana Republic when they have sales! Everything I've bought there has been really good quality, and I like a lot of the simplicity n the designs. Enjoy!

I wish it were snowing here in Berlin, but we had an incredibly mild day here today. It's Springtime – at least for now. Have a Happy New Year!

Paula, it sounds like a very lovely day. And it's nice to hear that the younger generation is kicking ass in Words! 🙂 Means they're learning how to spell, amen!

Sorry about your cold, Cathy. 🙁 I like your changes on the blog. Brave of you!

Anne, it's the "gentle" that I like best. Gentle is the perfect word for this past week.

Devon, love seeing your GDR updated. I'll have to visit today while I still have spare time. And BR's sales are fantastic, though I will say their post-holiday sale at the outlets were abyssmal. Better to go to the mall instead.

EP, I've often wanted to go to Berlin. I've heard it's quite lovely. Lucky you! And happy 2013 to you as well, friend.
