Monthly Assessment: June 2010

What’s on the iPod: Wasted Words by The Allman Brothers Band Amen for June. I was glad to see the arse-end of May, and June proved to be much better all the way around. Emotional upheavals gone, biopsies out of the way, work issues vaporized, and checks actually arrived, amen. Here’s the low-down: Queries:I did…

Dressing for the Job

What’s on the iPod: The Joker by Steve Miller Band Dressing? For freelancing? Is she kidding? you must be thinking. Actually, I’m quite serious. Despite the fact that I sit at home with very occasional “remote” work days, I dress for my job. That’s not to say every day I put on a business suit,…

What’s on the iPod: Something Good This Way Comes by Jakob Dylan Yesterday was a really fruitful day. No clue. I've got an article to write today, did 1300 words on the novel, have to rework a play. Need to go over my submission log and clear out any backlog of projects, and also get out some more pitches and queries. I've got four skits to write, if I can find the sense of humor I misplaced.

Later this week, I'll see the closing night of my play, the last before the company closes shop and moves to FL.

    Congrats, Lori, on your anniversary.

The weather cooperated here so I could get some training in for the 3-Day Walk-yay!

It is going to be a busy one. Mom's having cataract surgery on her 2nd eye–so I have doctor's visists to take her to.

This week, I am starting the writing for a white paper, have a planning call for a Case Study, a 500-word article, a 750-word article, a regular gig for a quarterly newsletter, and several blog posts sprinkled in.

Got one blog in before having to leave to take Mom for the surgery. Have a great week, y'all!

I've got a surprise day off away from the day job so I'm taking advantage and rolling out the manuscript(s).

    Have a good one 🙂

This week is a whole lot of grant writing for me, with article and story stuff mixed in. I'm going to NY next week so I'm not adding anything new to my workload… just finishing stuff up.

    Congratulations on your anniversary. 🙂

Devon, I've got my fingers crossed that once the relocation occurs the play will be back.

Cathy, best wishes for Mom's surgery. I'm sure she'll have an easy time of it. May the post-surgery healing time go quickly for her. And wow to all the projects!

Colin, that's a very nice suprise! Hope you've made the most of it. 🙂

Valerie, enjoy NY next week. The city or somewhere else? LOVE that city.

And thanks for the anniversary wishes, folks. We had a nice weekend away the previous weekend, so we played it low-key this time.

I had an unexpected long weekend, so I'm feeling refreshed. My friend got married on Friday… sort of spur of the moment. Pretty crazy, but lots of fun. I have a pretty hectic week coming up, so I'm glad I got some extra relaxation this weekend.

    Congratulations on your anniversary!

Congrats on the anniversary! I'm frantically working towards a huge deadline tomorrow as my kitchen is demo'd today and reno starts tomorrow. Managing plumber, contractor, and deliveries while trying to write. Yikes.
