Your Invitation

Posted on by

Yesterday I invited you to commit to a monthly assessment for each month next year in an attempt to kick-start your career. I realize it was an unofficial invitation, so I’m here to remedy that. Here’s your formal invite:

Who: You
What: Monthly Assessment of your earnings and career plans
Where: Right here
When: The last day of every month
How: Post a comment giving a snapshot of your activity for the month. You can include actual figures or percentages of your earnings – whatever you’re comfortable with.
Why: To remain aware of how your career is progressing, and to gain valuable advice and support for your efforts.

R.S.V.P. here today. A simple yes or no is fine.

Will you join us?

FYI: Devon Ellington’s Goals, Dreams, and Resolutions is an excellent blog to help define your career and keep it on track. Devon’s been doing this for years and has perfected methods of setting goals and attaining them. She has a great post that describes the process. I suggest you read her entire blog, as well. Excellent stuff as only Devon can provide!

    Yes.

But I may need reminding …

If you get my feed, Diane, the reminder will be titled "Monthly Assessment." 🙂 I have one coming tomorrow. You're welcome to join in early!

Yes, but I'll also be doing the bulk of it on the GDR site. Snapshots here, details there!

    Works for me, Devon!

Just an FYI to everyone: Devon's Goals, Dreams, and Resolutions site has a great post up on determining your goals, dreams, and resolutions. Cruise over to her site and read through the posts – my favorite is titled "Looking Ahead to 2010." Click on the link in my blog list to the left!

I love this idea but am afraid if I say "yes," I just plain won't have the time to follow through consistently. I've been weeks behind reading my favorite blogs lately. Heck, I haven't even managed to update my own blog this week or site in TWO weeks.

But I want to do this! Regular assessment is healthy! How about a firm "I'll try"?

    Don't you love wishy-washy people?

I've been playing along for several months already. It's very helpful.

And I will be checking out Devon's blog.

    Thanks for the link love!

Paula, I like having you playing along. 🙂

AnnaLisa, a firm maybe is better than a no. 🙂 It's going to take you as much time as it takes to comment. That's it. Just "This month was great" or "This month, yea, not so much." You can go into detail or not – totally up to you!

Be sure to check out Devon's site. She's made a science of this, and it's a great blueprint for success.

    You're welcome, Devon. 🙂

Thanks for the invite. I'll be there. Will there be drinks? LOL. Anyway, I plan to join in since it won't take too much time to do.

I'm nervous about doing this and that means I should. Yes, I'm going to do it. I've set some pretty ambitious goals this year and I'll need something that keeps me accountable and helps me measure my progress. I'm in.

Wendy, I'm mixing as we speak. 😉

    Great, Kim! It'll be pain-free, I promise. 🙂

    I'm in, I think 😉
