Weekend Warrior

What’s on the iPod: BohΓ©me by We Invented Paris I’m getting a late start blogging this morning. It was one of those weekends that had me glad to see Monday come just for the rest. I started Saturday thinking I’d spend an hour finding a home for the stacks of books I received from his…

What’s on the iPod: Hypocritical Kiss by Jack White Wow. What a week. What a freaking busy week. I haven’t had so many projects at once in a few months, so it was a bit of a shock. I finished one project, have another nearly finished, and can probably toss together a third in just…

Memories at the End of Summer

What’s on the iPod: I Will Wait by Mumford and Sons I can’t believe today is the first day of fall. I didn’t get to the shore this summer (not surprising given my surgery in May), nor did I spend enough time in the garden. And yet, the summer was lovely. The garden bloomed without…

What’s on the iPod: Missy by The Airborne Toxic Event Monday’s hitting hard. Sometime on Thursday, I felt it coming — scratchy throat, stuffiness building. Friday, it showed up. Sick. Damn. It put a huge damper on my productivity, but I pushed through with the help of the right medicines. Thank goodness I’m married to…

What’s on the iPod: The Busker by We Invented Paris Friday! The week went by too quickly, but I’m glad to see it end. Weirdness with Verizon yesterday had me without email all day. In fact, I’m hoping by the time you read this I’ll have my email restored. The company said it wasn’t expecting…

What’s on the iPod: Lonesome by Dr Dog Disjointed day yesterday — it started with an appointment that lasted until lunch time. I came home, got busy on a large project, but I was lacking steam. I pushed through and managed a few thousand words, but not the kind of progress I’d hoped for. Today…

Sounds like a good weekend, Lori.

I'm getting ready for this weekend. πŸ™‚ I leave Thursday for San Francisco, meet with a prospect in the city, then head to the East Bay to spend the night with one of my Fight Like A Girl teammates. Then a bunch of the teammates are forming a caravan to drive to another teammate's Lake Tahoe home for a 10-year reunion. πŸ™‚

I started this past weekend off on a sour note, spending over 2 hours on the phone with 1st AT&T, then Blackberry to fix the fact that my device had not been receiving emails since early Friday morning.

I was buckled down on Friday, getting work done before my trip, I hadn't noticed until Friday evening. Since Friday is the business side of the trip (prospect meeting), I didn't want to be without email. *Sigh* remember the days before smartphones?

Then my football team lost so Saturday was not good. Watched Serena win on Sunday in a great match. The weather has finally cooled off so that's worth celebrating right there. πŸ™‚ Have a great week, everyone!

I should have known you were a Breaking Bad fan. It's kind of hard to wind down after new episodes of that, though! (Did you see the junior high Breaking Bad musical all over YouTube? It's amazing…"I am the one who knocks!")

I have the same kind of weeds. Once you find the main stem they're fairly easy to pull. My hands have been too bad this summer (severe eczema) to stay on top of the weeds.

I spent most of my weekend dealing with the customer service issue that keeps getting worse. I really with more companies realized how good customer service can turn problems into positives while poor customer service only hurts them in the long run. Especially when they're dealing with a ticked off writer.

Argh. My blood is still boiling. But I need to focus on paying work today.

Cathy, enjoy the trip! I've always wanted to go to Tahoe. πŸ™‚

Paula, they have no idea what they've unleashed. πŸ™‚ Give 'em hell.
