First of all, they don’t believe you’re working unless they can stare at you as you type. Then they start adding additional things outside of the scope of the contract. Since it’s an at-will state, the second anyone says no, they’re fired.

It’s why most of my clients are not in this area, and I’ve scaled back to a single local on-site client.

They think that hiring anyone means that you have to do anything they come up with in the moment.
