Paula, that’s absurd. Might have been the same writing gurus I’m thinking of. In fact, one of them was creating mashups of my blog posts (someone here alerted me to it). That a “guru” is selling the public on being so smart and having to steal content to do so tells me plenty about where I won’t be putting my money.

I still see these mashups, and they’re creating another problem. Yesterday I was researching an article when I saw three instances of the same article, only the people who’d lifted the content didn’t even bother to rephrase anything. I can’t use the information because I cannot determine the original source.

That’s a problem we should never have to face.

I recall seeing nearly identical copy in a couple of content-mill “articles” back then too, and still do now and then when searching “how to…” articles. I think it happened when I Googled “the best way to prune tomato plants” this summer, too.
