This is something I've struggled with over the years. Is the fact that I'm good, on time, and easy to work with a brand?

Just recently I identified and have begun communicating the two things I think set me apart from many other writers in the dietary supplement space:
1. I can write compelling copy that complies with the nuanced FDA/FTC regulations and requires fewer revisions based on regulatory review.
2. I can take scientific language and make it understandable to the layperson.

It only took me 12 years to get there. :/

Good advice, Lori. Like Anne says, something to mull over -- and do! I'm not sure which piece of advice is most important. For now, I know I need to work on the first one -- not only identifying my unique skills but communicating them.

Thanks again.

My brand is simple. Really. When I started my freelance career, I asked myself what my message was. That evolved into business writing that would keep it simple, clear & uniquely yours.

Coming from an employee benefits and health care background, simple is my goal. Take the complex (like health reform) and attempt to make it simple by not losing the message in the delivery. Keeping it clear by staying focused on the message.

The uniquely yours springs from my middle child of seven syndrome - shining a spotlight on what's unique about the individual (or business). I hate following the crowd. ;-)
