Jenn, is your fireplace wood or gas? I'd plan to use that. Having lived in western PA where the power went out a lot, I just assume we'll need to block off rooms and stay where the only heat source is.

And a very happy birthday a little early. :)

It's completely crazy, isn't it? We ended up with about 8 up here, and we were supposed to be just far enough north to have most of the storm miss us. Not so much!

Now they're saying another 3-6, or 4-8 depending on the source, tonight on top of what we just had. Then they're saying a quarter inch of ice on top of that. Tomorrow is going to be a nightmare. I'm very concerned about the ice taking down tree limbs and knocking our power out up here. We're at the very end of a power line, so there is a lot of room in a heavily wooded township for trees to wreak havoc. It's what they do best! :)

As if that's not enough, they're calling for more on Sunday (my bday, so now I have to reschedule things because I won't be able to get out and family can't make it here at planned). Still not sure on the expected totals for that storm, although now they're saying it will run into Monday. I think by the time it's all over, hubby's going to miss being in the office. LOL

Jake, I've been there in August. That's when you thank God for A/C.

Enjoy the skiing! Ours is the snowman kind of snow, and we topped out at close to 10 inches yesterday. I think we're supposed to see one or two more inches today and a repeat over the weekend.

Glad you had your "golf" day off. Sounds like your daughter chose wisely. :)

Well...this is the best time of year in Phoenix, so I'll count my blessings while we're still in the 60s-70s during the day. (Y'all can razz me in August when I'm frying.) That said, a couple of inches have fallen in the eastern mountains, with more to come--so we'll hit the slopes this weekend.

I don't get any snow days, of course, but I did take off Wednesday to go to the Phoenix Open. My daughter was the standard bearer (holding the scoring sign) for heartthrob Rickie Fowler, so she was in 7th heaven. He seems like a down-to-earth guy--nice to see, when you can tell so many pro athletes would rather be anywhere other than hanging out with fans.
