(I do eat seafood, so I also like spring rolls with shrimp, but we didn't want to fuss.)

She was 95, but did a lot of downsizing herself when she sold her house and moved to an apartment when she was 91. Still a lot of little sentimental treasures.

My weekend was wonderful. Saturday my sister and two friends (sisters also) came here from Chicago to go to a big flea market west of town. It's practically tradition now: Flea market (during which we have lunch made by one of the girls – delicious roasted tomato, fresh mozzarella and arugula on ciabatta!), more bargains, then early dinner at our favorite Vietnamese place, then back to my house for my sister's birthday cake. Long, fun day – and I didn't even find anything to buy at the flea market!

Sunday a neighbor came over and I showed her how to make Vietnamese spring rolls – not nearly as good as the ones I'd had the day before, but still pretty good. My neighbor didn't mess up any of the stick spring roll wrappers, but I did.
