I took two Paulas and a Wade and hey, I'm feeling better. Thanks, Dr. Cathy! :)

Thanks, Anne. She appears to be on the mend, as well.

Great advice, Devon. Only trouble was this was something I'd tried to push through with when I should have seen a doctor right away --intestinal infection. Not virus, but infection. Nasty stuff.

But in general, your advice is spot on. Rest while you can and keep the body in good condition.

Feel better soon.

When I worked in production, it was my job not to get sick. Period. That was part of the gig. If you were REALLY sick, you took off, otherwise, it was expected to push through, especially if you were the swing. If they call you because someone else is sick and you're sick -- they don't call again.

Now that I am in control of my own schedule, if I'm on top of my assignments and I feel something coming on, I try to take a day early on to stop it. If I"m behind, I have to get the work done. I do the work on time, and THEN I take time -- but often, it means I need to take more. So I try to catch it early, use my herbal room remedies to fight it, and then I'm down for the count for a shorter length of time.

The longer you push, the longer recovery you need, in my experience.

Feel better soon!

Damaria, I'm in the middle of that kind of situation exactly. YOu're an inspiration. I'll keep chugging along. :)

Jeez, Paula - it's been a while since I've gotten marching orders. Yes, ma'am! :)

Oh Wade, if only I could let them cater. The daughter is sick and may end up in the hospital today. That flu hit her hard. But hubs is pampering and worrying, so that's nice. :)

Oh Betty, I'm sorry you're sick, too! Hope you're feeling better soon.

Thank you, Tony. Hope you're well. Long time no talk, friend.

Hope you feel better soon. I've been sick, too, and wrote on my blog about how much less stressful it was to deal with as a freelancer than an employee. http://www.freelanceqanda.com/?p=241

There is nothing more important than your health. I know it is a duh statement, but I believe too many of us put it on the back burner. Lori, take care of yourself! Seriously, the work and this blog will still be there. I know it is difficult when you're a professional like yourself. It sounds like your illness is not run of the mill and you better nip it in the butt. Take some time, have your family cater to your every need :-) and we'll see you on the other side.

Thankfully, it's been a long time since I've had any illness that was bad enough to keep me from work for more than a day at a time. I'm not really sure what I'd do - push through the best I can, I suppose. It might depend on where I am in the assignment.

Here are your orders, Lori: Rest, (more) tea, then a little more rest. Don't even TRY to write a new blog post until you're feeling better or we'll suspend your computer privileges until you're totally recovered. We can make due with archives for a couple days.

Get well soon!
