Ah, Lori - felting isn't about using felt, it's about making felt.....

You can felt old wool/natural fiber sweaters; you can knit or crochet wool/natural fibers into piece or objects to be felted; you can needle felt wool roving into designs on felted materials; and you can do wet felting, which is a little like making paper out of wool. I haven't tried wet felting yet, but my sister made some great Christmas gifts for us last year when she and a fiend tried wet felting.

Paula, you have the most interesting hobbies! I'd look at felt and think "Wow. Can't see a single use for it." You look at it and see projects. I'm envious.

Thanks for the link to "Four Steps to Building a Platform." Not only was I unaware of what a platform was, I didn't even know that I had been trying to build one for years – although not as efficiently as I might have been. Interesting thoughts.

A neighbor is inspiring me. She's a talented seamstress and fiber artist – especially felting. Got an e-mail from her this morning saying she'd finally got her felting act in order and has several pieces at the local art guild's Holiday Sale this weekend. I could do that…maybe. I mean she's a true artist, I'm still on the felting learning curve.

This week's inspiration has come from two rather vivid and scary dreams I had: a ghost story and an oceanic thriller, no less!

Also, the lyrics from one of my favourite bands, Arab Strap, is once again playing on my mind and causing some rather odd poetic verse to land on the page.

Gotta roll with it though eh?

What's inspiring me? The local writers' association. So many new opportunities have opened for me from just Wednesday night's dinner. It's a case of juggling them and fitting them in, because they feed into the long-term goals, while still not dropping the ball on any short terms.
