I worked on a client project. My niece and nephew came to visit and I spent time with them. Baked muffins. Weeded the garden.

Well, I vacuumed *gasp*, baked apples and kale chips, sorted under the breakfast bar (it's a useless height, so I have shelves and pantry stuff under it), pulled the dead Christmas lights off the banisters and replaced them (easier said than done- and it's so pretty, we leave them up year round, so they die fairly often), made a big batch of stew, and, sadly, not much else. I got a late start on Saturday and had a raging headache Sunday, so I feel as though I accomplished quite a lot.

LOL! No worries, Paula. I figured out what you meant.

We did freeze a lot of things. He has a ton of Amazonian feather masks and headdresses (ours is an interesting house) and those bugs go right for the feathers. We'd frozen them for months. The trouble is they're still in the house. Until we can rid the house of them, we can't take the masks out of plastic.

I finished my Stepping Out Car Coat! Last weekend I was disappointed by the sleeve seams and realized I wanted a wider collar. The best thing? The wider collar hides the not-so-smooth parts of the sleeve seams. Woo-hoo! I wore it around the house yesterday - perfect for this time of year when I'm trying not to turn the heat on until the boiler gets its annual checkup, cleaning and service.

I also started putting up the window film. My sister's dogs interior are arriving Wednesday for about a week, so I'll wait until they go home to cover their favorite windows.

Re: Carpet Beetles: A Ravelry group was discussing how to get rid of carpet beetles in yarn stashes. A woman who works at a museum said if you have beetles feeding on yarn, clothing, or objects (as opposed to actual carpet), you can kill them by freezing the items for 7 days, thaw for three days, re-freeze again for at least 3 days (to kill any eggs than hatched after the initial freezing). They said the beetles are attracted to all kinds of animal fibers. Some people claimed cedar chips helped repel them, other said that didn't work.

If they're in area rugs, you could freeze & thaw them this winter. If they're in wall-to-wall carpeting I hope you have hardwood flooring under the carpets.

I ran the rest of the packets for the conference, was at the Time Capsule Ceremony in my first official duty, did laundry, and fixed the hot water heater.

Not my favorite way to spend the weekend! ;)

I do now have 15,000 sheets of paper (three cases) in my office though. Well, a little less. It took about 3 reams to run the packets.
