My DIY pedicure is free (unless I find the right polish to splurge on).

Since my skin is so allergic to everything I don't want to risk a bad reaction with any lotions or soaking agents that might be used in "real" pedicures, which will probably save me thousands of dollars over the course of my life.

That said, I'm really curious about the ones where little fish swim around and nibble the dead skin from your feet. Of course, I've always wanted to try walking on hot coals, too. Anyone here tried either of those things?

I think some of your Irish luck finally rubbed off on me. One of the two places that has owed me for published articles I wrote several months ago finally e-mailed with details confirming that my check has been sent out. Granted, it's the place that only owed a tiny amount, and I had to hound them several times, but they're sending it.

If the rain holds off I might try to do a little yard work this weekend. I hate yard work, but have several small branches that need to be cleaned up and a lot of that post-snow debris to clean up along the street and sidewalk. You see, I hate seeing that kind of mess more than I hate cleaning it up. I'm just not lazy enough to ignore it.

I wish I had something fun planned. Maybe a DIY pedicure? Thank goodness it's almost barefoot weather here again. I want to find a nice deep orange polish for my toes this year...

Ashley, on a side note – my aunt had sent us a photo of her standing with Bill Clinton at a fundraiser for some charity she helps organize. In the background – Jon Bon Jovi. She had her back to the hottest man in the room and probably didn't realize who he was. Good. Lord.

Devon, it surprises me none that whiskey and priest are combined. Many a man of the cloth have I seen in an inebriated state. They're human, though many of them don't want to admit it. :) Looking forward to reading about the show!

Cathy, I never cared for people who hold themselves above anyone else. Even in fun, sometimes it's a bit mean-spirited. I'm much more in favor of the "Irish for a day" inclusion. :) And you and I have a date for some futur Oktoberfest - there's a party, too!

Jenn, I wish you'd strolled in, even for a minute. I thought of you! But I bet you have rockin' toes. :)
