Oh Paula, that's one freak accident! It would be funny if it weren't so painful for her. Wow. I guess don't carry a purse with a strap, or have it on your arm before you get out of the car.

Beats my mom falling backwards onto the up escalator at the mall last week. The sight of her splayed out and unable to get up - my first reaction was to grab her. My second was to grab a camera.

Oh, Cathy. I hope your experience turns out like a friend of mine. I think her heel got caught in her purse strap and she fell face first out of her husband's Jeep onto a paved driveway. Many months and temporaries later, she likes her new smile more than her old one.

Cathy … yikes… Lori this weekend, well yesterday, I turned off the phone and read junk novels until time to go to meditation – of course I'd forgotten the time change so I got there an hour early.

Hint on the cold… for me a cold is always anger I've hidden from myself…

Thanks, Lori. I am surprised that it doesn't hurt more. My dentist gave me drugs, but I'm only taking Ibuprofen. I'm not much of a pain medication person. If I can get away without it, I do.

I'm freaking most about how it looks, of course.

Hope you're feeling better from the cold. I swear it's the air in the planes that does it every time.

I had one of those events you just don't plan for. Friday, while eating lunch, I broke my front lateral tooth off at the root. I could fit right in with the hockey players. And I leave Saturday for my 3-Day Walk and I also have appointments lined up with clients.

My dentist office is only open until 2 PM on Fridays so I had to haul you-know-what to get there. To make a long story short, the little tooth left behind did not want to come out. It took 2 hours. I still have a gaping hole-thank God I work at home! And I go tomorrow to get a flipper (partial with one tooth). I can't even think about something more permanent for 4 months, until it heals.

My dentist said the good thing(?) about all the trouble they had was it told him I was not a good candidate for a $3,500 implant. I could get a 3-unit bridge at $950 per unit.

And for the 1st time in my working career - since I'm freelancing - I have no dental insurance. I walked out the door after paying $880 (including the flipper I get tomorrow) and this before going to San Diego for over a week.

Sigh...the life of a freelancer. Oh, and of course, my health insurance went up this month.

I'd smile, but I don't want to scare small children. :-(
