Gabriella, I was in surgery at that time, but the recovery was shortly after your post. The happy pills – morphine – let me sleep for four hours and I woke up nauseated thanks to the anesthesia, but feeling much better.

Mridu, I hear you! I was wondering if I should be buying that (I'm striving for enlightenment, but hey, sometimes it takes a few lives to get it right!). :))

Paula, you and me and a case of spinach! What a fun time. I'm like Forrest Gump's friend Bubba – spinach quiche, spinach crepes, spinach pie, spinach tacos, spinach hors d'oeuvres, spinach omelettes, spinach soup…..

Jake, that's hilarious! I'm sure your mom had a great laugh out of that request, too. Glad you had a better time of the wisdom tooth extraction than I did – I couldn't move or eat for three days and the "doctor" didn't bother wiping the blood off my face. Hell, he didn't put the sides up on the bed after my surgery. I could've rolled right onto the concrete.

When I was 18 and went under for my wisdom teeth, the oral surgeon and assistant were talking about a Three Stooges routine during the surgery–and apparently, I started laughing in the middle of it. (Though I don't remember it.) And when I was done, I told my mom with the utmost confidence that I could drive home. She denied the request, mercifully.

I'll have to celebrate October since spinach is, was, and always will be my favorite vegetable. It's so versatile and tastes great fresh, wilted or cooked. I don't order pizza often, but when I do I usually have spinach on it.
