We're hoping for rain here. It's been unbearably hot.

I'm talking to a potential client about writing their company newsletter to their clients. They're still feeling me out, so we'll see. Trying to figure out how much time it would take me to write it and how much to quote. That's the hardest part!

What's working is extreme deadline pressure, since we're headed to our no-cell, no-internet destination in San Diego on Sunday. Nothing lights the fire of inspiration better than that!

That's all they want to pay? Ridiculous. They'll keep advertising, too. They're not willing to pay for talent, so they'll continue to get crap.

Yeah, it's dark and rumbling here. I'll get soaked with all the running around I have to do, but that's fine. Pisces -- water is good!

Applied for a script reading job -- I've done it for years for companies all over the world, I'm good at it. This place keeps advertising. Of course they do. Turns out they only want to pay $15-$25/script and wonder why the professional script readers/coverage people aren't doing it.

Um, I got $15/script to read one act plays back in 1982. When I was just starting out.

You get what you pay for.
