I'm on the Fridays-off schedule myself, and it's lovely. It leaves me better recharged for the next work week, and just as I'm starting to feel worn out by Thursday, the week's over. I'm actually making more money now than I was working 5 days per week because I pruned some of the lower-end contracts and pitched increases to the other clients. I hope it turns into a regular thing for you and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I have both and like them both. I have the ipad and I like the reader on it. I use the reader at night when I'm lying in bed because it's backlit. I think i will be great for vacations and on the plane.

But books. Oh yes....the feel of them and the smell of them. Nothing tops a book sitting on the beach with sand in your toes. Just nothing else will do.

So I'm a hybrid reader? :)

For me, there is just something too clinical about reading on a computer screen which includes Kindle. Books have always been my primary source for reading. I like the feel of the book in my hand, the smell of the pages and the thought that so much creativity was used in producing the book. Nowadays, we all use the internet for communication so Kindle is the "thing" to do. However, give me a book any day over a digital contraption.

I don't have a Kindle, but I do like to read some ebooks. I prefer to do it off the computer though. Kindles are too expensive.

But, apparently, I can afford one now since I saw in my spam folder that I received 5 notices, overnight, that I won some international lotteries. Big Bucks, too.

Congrats on the big assignments! I've only snagged $2/word one time, so far, anyway. Nice to know some places are still paying well.

As for Kindles - I still don't have an iPod, so it's no surprise that I've never actually seen a Kindle.(Hey, the first time I ever touched an iPod was last summer when I saw one at a store.) After a friend said she'd irreparably broken her Kindle and had to spend another couple hundred dollars on a new one, my thought was, "And they save you money...how?" Sure the downloadable books cost less, but how many do you need to buy before the savings of having the Kindle is more than the cost of the real books? You know, those spined things kind that live in the library.

Eddie Izzard! Did you watch him in The Riches? Worst part of the series: he had to do an American accent. His real accent is so much better....

I'm with you on the Kindle, Lori. My M.O. every evening is to read in bed before going to sleep. Somehow, I just can't imagine snuggling up to a Kindle. :-)

Typically, when you have a short week, it's great. This one has been strange & challenging. It's raining again this morning so maybe it will wash away the strange!
