Three years ago I saw my first online piece get published. I was so excited that it got me motivated to think I can really do this (so I really got started writing about the same time you started blogging) and people will really buy what I write. Now I’m finally learning what I want to write and who I want to work with.

I guess that means I’ve been reading your blog for almost those whole three years. At first I was just a lurker, drinking in everything you were telling me. It’s prepared me for some things and others I’ve just have to learn on my own but I’m so glad to not be a lurker anymore and be a part of your community! Happy Anniversary!

You’ve been at blogging a few months longer than I have.

Three years ago, I working with many of the same clients as I am now. However, I have expanded my services to include Web site creation, interior book design, and consulting on self-publishing in addition to writing and editing. I like doing a lot of things for a few clients rather than a few things for a lot of clients.

Here’s wishing you many more years of sharing your advice and ramblings.

Hmmmm… my career 3 years ago. Oh. Not good. The business was at its’ height and my best friend was dying of breast cancer. I essentially dropped everything to be by her side. The biz suffered but it was the right thing to do.

I have relationships with these people; they trust me and I trust them, so I’m glad that hasn’t changed. What’s different is that I took the plunge, wrote 2 books, started a website, found great blogs like this one, where I virtually meet wonderful fellow writers who teach me things every day. My own blog will be starting up within the next month (I hope), and I’ll be curious to see where that takes me over the next year.

Congratulations on your success here, Lori. I’m thrilled I discovered this blog, and look forward to reading your daily entries.

Three years ago I was struggling. Still freelancing most of the time, but still relying on temp agencies when things got tough. Things are SO much better now!
