The part of us that’s been through those lean times is dying to say yes, but the part that’s overworked is dying to say no… ;))

I have one stalled project that I suspect isn’t finished yet. I’m reluctant to contact the client before I leave because you know they’re going to want me to hurry up and get this done NOW before I go. I just don’t have time to do it and frankly, I’ve sat for weeks waiting for a word back. If they wait a week, the world will not end.

I was supposed to fly to DC this afternoon, but my flight was cancelled, so now I’m flying out tomorrow. This week I’ve gotten an obscene number of emails and phone calls asking about my availability. In several cases, I just had to say no. Rush assignment for an article due Monday? Tempting as it was, it would have driven me crazy! Another assignment I accepted but told them I can’t start until August 1. Lots of blog fodder, but first I think I need to go to bed!
