Ah, Lori - if only we were smart enough to know what we don't know when we still don't know it!

If only clients came with a flashing light or a color-coded tag. You know. Like when your name tag at a conference says what you're having for lunch. Blue dot = fish, yellow dot = chicken, pink dot = beef. But instead:

Orange dot = This client is nicer than apple pie but will question every comma until you want to throw yourself from a building but will mercifully pay on time.

Yellow dot = This client is slower than molassas and you need to build in those safeguards you just wrote about.

Green dot = This client will provide clear instructions, accept the terms of "one revision" contract and return comments in a week, pay your invoice on time, and say "Thanks!"

If only we could see that yellow dots coming before we found ourselves scrambling for good advice like your!
