NaNo count: 35,025 words
How was the weekend? I’m glad to be back at the computer. As much as I love time off, I’m aching and tired from cleaning. We have all four bedrooms full and the basement had to be set up for one more bed. I wish everything was finished, but I’ve made huge headway. I managed a little bit of writing for NaNo yesterday, but not as much as I’d like. It’s tough to type when you’re starving and falling asleep.
Today is a busy one. I was sent three projects late Friday and I have to go over those today to see if they’re straightforward or if they have to wait for vacations to be over for more information. Also, I have an interview for one of the articles. Plus I expect to get revisions back on another projects draft.
Anne and I have some work to do, as well. She and I are putting together another Webinar, and the details have to be worked out and marketed today. Stay tuned – it’s going to be a good one.
I’ll be taking off tomorrow after lunch, re-emerging Friday or Monday, depending on who’s still here. Stepdaughter’s boyfriend arrives today, stepdaughter tomorrow. Daughter’s boyfriend’s fever (pneumonia) broke Friday and he was able to drive home Saturday. He’s not able to work yet, but he’s better. Amen. Mom and Dad show up tomorrow via train. I’ve planned meals for the next four days, including a vegetarian/carnivorous Thanksgiving. They eat it – we don’t. I love cooking, but pleasing so many palettes is always challenging.
What’s on your plate this week (besides turkey or non-turkey products)? Are you working? Hosting the holiday or traveling?
I've got requested submissions to fulfill, work on other manuscripts, and I have to start thinking about how to replace some lost income.
Also have to cook most of tomorrow.
Once I clear off some things hanging over me, I can enjoy the holiday!
Our Thanksgiving will be at my brother's house. We have three who don't eat meat (I'm one of two of who also don't eat poultry), one who can't eat gluten, one who's lactose intolerant (and from the Dairy State, poor thing!), two adults who loathe vegetables, and two kids – one will try anything, the other is a picky eater. The funny thing is we will all be stuffed by the end of the day since we all try to offer options whenever possible.
I don't have any official deadlines or interviews to do this week, so my schedules is flexible. I plan to transcribe today and try to get an article out (and invoiced) tomorrow. One of my articles involves catching up on a lot of TV shows I don't normally watch, so I'll get some knitting and crocheting done, too.
I'm also working on a surprise for my brother's birthday (which is slightly less than a month away) that involves digging though family archives.
Funny how everything comes up around the holidays, Devon. Same here. I have lots to clear up before I can continue preparing for the holiday. I hope to actually enjoy it, but that remains to be seen. 🙂
Paula, that's a lot of diets to cover. Glad to hear you have help in figuring it out! If they all pitch in, it should be good.
I just emailed a project to a client a few minutes ago, so that feels good. Depending on when he gets back to me with feedback, I'll probably do any edits over the weekend or the first of next week.
Because our families are half a continent away, we'll be celebrating with friends on Thursday. They have also invited two servicemen to join the feast, so I'm looking forward to talking with them too.
Got some good news over the weekend, too: I passed my comprehensive exam to complete my MA! All that's left is a few things for my last class; I need to turn in that research paper that I've already finished and take the final exam. Life is good. I have a lot to be thankful for on Thursday!
YES!! Congratulations, Ashley. Told you you would do it. 🙂
Enjoy your Thanksgiving. Sounds like a wonderful group to share with.
Thanksgiving is eating and hockey for the Finnegan family. Stuff myself Thursday, so I'm ready to watch my son play hockey all weekend. It's a tournament, so I'm excited to watch him play against teams from outside of our region. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
That sounds like an absolutely terrific holiday, Wade. Two of my favorite things – hockey and eating (in that order).
Good luck to your son and his team!
